        Verdict

        Nelson's Column, Rudry Dragon and Snowed Under are the three against the field here and Nelson's Column looks ready to step up on some promising efforts. Rudry Dragon has his first visit to the track and although he has only one win to his credit, his winless run has seen him drop down the handicap. He has been running consistently but failing to find a finishing kick and this stiff uphill finish can see him to good effect. Nelsons Column is another who has waited a long time for a success, almost two years. He shaped well when a little unlucky last time. He met trouble at a crucial stage before staying on to good effect to finish third. The handicapper is a tad concerned as he has raised him a pound, and Nelsons Column may well be on a winning mark.
