In depth

Verdict

Llab Nala is consistent but is exposed and not well drawn so we'll take a chance with Piverina. This newcomer to handicaps is well drawn this afternoon and may be able to find sufficient improvement to make an impact in this company. She missed the break on her reappearance at Pontefract so can probably be rated a little better than the bare form and her breeding suggests that she should be suited by this longer trip. Llab Nala has been kept busy in claimers, sellers and handicaps on the all-weather and has been doing okay without winning. His sole success came on grass and it would be no surprise to see him in the mix this afternoon. Others to bear in mind in an open looking race are Lu's Women who caught the eye here on debut last year, Aquarian Dancer, Piccolo Pete and Princess Maria. Hopefully, the market will help us to sort the wheat from the chaff but Piverina may be able to pull this race out of the hat.
