Having put up such a sterling performance in defeat earlier in the week, Coat Of Honour is fancied to go one better, at the expense of Theorist, Devant and Not Amused. It is worth pointing out, however, that there are a number of improving three-year-olds in this field, so from a betting point of view it may be worth using some caution. That said, we could not help but be taken by the reappearance of Sir Mark Prescott's horse at Newcastle on Bank Holiday Monday, when he finished a neck second behind Polly Plunkett. That does not tell half the story, though, as apart from him the first eight, including the winner, all raced on the far side. The Mark Of Esteem gelding was still a little green but pulled more than eight lengths clear of his nearest stands side rival, and is surely thrown in off his current mark. Mark Johnston's Theorist was able to win his maiden despite looking very green at Epsom on his reappearance, is another with a lot of improvement to come and looks to be on a fair mark for his handicap debut. Devant is the only one of these to have won in handicap-company so far, having made all to win at Yarmouth on her reappearance. However, a 6lb penalty may be enough to stop Michael Jarvis' filly from landing the hat trick in this better race. Not Amused shaped as though she would stay further than this when winning on yielding ground at Doncaster on her reappearance and Barry Hills' may find things happening a bit quickly on her handicap debut.
