Verdict

This looks more open than the first division with several arriving in decent shape. Kodicil has improved since stepping up to 1m2f and today's longer trip is likely to suit but Market Maker is very one-paced and is probably better suited to hurdling over which he beat today's rival Operateur at Sedgefield in June. GREY COMMAND's only victory on turf in 33 starts came over this C&D last month and, though he looks a few pounds high in the weights, this isn't the strongest of races and he can double his winning tally. Politbureau's fourth place here last time came in a race even poorer than this and Ed Dunlop tries Al Khawaneej in blinkers for the first time but they'll need to be miracle workers after his shocking recent performances at Sandown and Newmarket where he has finished tailed off.
