        Verdict

        Not too many of these can confidently be ruled out but a chance is taken that The Ring can build on his recent efforts and the three-year-old is just preferred to Pavement Gates, Lautrec and Estimate - although it would also be dangerous to rule out Celtic Sapphire; despite his frustrating profile. However, the same can be said of most of the field and it is not race to get too heavily involved with at this stage of the week. Therefore, The Ring, who has gone close on numerous occasions this season, is a minimum stakes only selection to land the spoils in a tricky little contest.
