    Verdict

Carlitos Spirit has had 14 unsuccessful runs since winning this from a 3lb higher mark last year and is difficult to fancy though Silvestre De Sousa is an intriguing booking. Local trainer Ian McInnes also saddles Dabbers Ridge, who likes the track and connections will be encouraged by the weekend's rain. Front-running tactics have revitalised SALIENT, who has made all at Bath and Epsom recently. He's been raised 5lb for his latest success but scored from a higher mark than this at Lingfield in August and must be the choice. It's difficult to know what to make of Unbreak My Heart, who would have no problems winning this on his run behind Captain Dancer in a much better race than this at Haydock in September. He's a massive 16lb lower here but was in poor form on the all-weather earlier this year after winning a Lingfield seller. Petsas Pleasure will appreciate the stiff uphill climb to the finish and should go well though he's just held by Seldom on their recent run at Ripon and the latter likes it around here.
