Verdict

An interesting little handicap with Sir Plato stepping up in grade under a penalty on his hat-trick bid. He won easily at Windsor and will be difficult to beat but MANANGATANG could prove better class. He made a successful debut at Lingfield in November and, though only scrambling home, gave notice that there was much more to come in his second campaign. Stradivarius showed promise in maidens at Nottingham and Newmarket before landing a maiden on Tapeta at Newcastle and the Sea The Stars colt is another with a pedigree better suited to a three-year-old campaign. Election Day is on a hat-trick after late-season maiden and nursery victories while neither Steel Helmet nor Our Boy can be dismissed at this stage of the season as both are potential improvers.
