Verdict

This looks to be a really tricky little race to fathom out with little decent form on the card, but the improving TIGER DREAM could land the spoils, ahead of Ultimate Respect and Nuit Sombre. Kevin Ryan's gelding will probably appreciate the slight step down in trip after being narrowly beaten over a mile last time out. He doesn't have the greatest of draws, but has overcome such a handicap in the past, and looks reasonably treated having previously been rated in the high 80s. Mark Johnston's Ultimate Respect will also probably appreciate a shorter trip than last time out. Less exposed, he's on an upwards curve and entered for a better race than this at Haydock on Friday. Nuit Sombre is better drawn and one of only two course and distance winners in the field, having landed the corresponding race two years ago. Over the years he's rewarded backers consistently, but the last of his 11 wins came at the back end of 2007, since when he's only managed a couple of placings despite tumbling down the weights. It probably won't take a great deal of winning, and preference is for Tiger Dream.
