Verdict

This has been run twice and Mark Johnston has won both. He saddles Enlace here and though she hasn't quite hit the heights after a smart opening to her career she faces fast ground on Turf for the first time since narrowly beaten at Newmarket in August. Gerry The Glover won here in July and has generally performed in better company subsequently. Crack Shot ran well when attempting to concede 8lb to Hills And Dales at Lingfield and with Shirley Teasdale's claim to aid his cause he'll be in the firing-line on that form. That winner is trained by Charlie Appleby, who has BOW AND ARROW entered here and his victory in what looked a fair Lingfield handicap could prove good enough for this. Pleiades came here for a maiden in September and beat a couple of better fancied rivals in good style though the form hasn't worked out.
