Verdict

Some progressive types line up for the Showcase including Jazz Messenger, Aventura and Paciano but the vote goes to Jarjoor. The Michael Jarvis-trained colt has impressed with two convincing victories at Nottingham this term and still appears ahead of the handicapper despite taking a sharp rise in the weights. Jazz Messenger is unexposed and is capable of better but takes a big step up in class having landed a weak Southwell maiden last time while recent Lingfield scorer Aventura had his limitations exposed last time and may struggle under top weight. Paciano shaped encouragingly on his return and will be sharper while Riska King hails from an in-form yard and is another to consider after a pleasing reappearance last month.
