In depth
Verdict
Flight To Quality can open his account here, with Formation and Reel Buddy Blaze seen as the principal dangers. Flight To Quality let his supporters down when sent off as favourite at Musselburgh just over three weeks ago, finding one too good in the equally fancied Sheekey. Mark Johnston's colt actually ran very well that day, making most of the running until collared by the eventual winner, and time may reveal that both turn out to be useful. The selection is entered for next year's Vodafone Derby, and although he will be suited by further in future, Flight To Quality should make a bold bid here. Fellow Derby entry Formation finished with a flourish when third over a mile at Kempton last time, and already shapes as though he needs a trip, while Reel Buddy Blaze will probably lead and set the race up for the other two. The rest are hard to fancy, although any support in the ring for newcomer My Shadow should be noted. Flight To Quality is the pick.
