In depth

Verdict

CAPTAIN KANE won five races at Class 6 level in the spring and stepped up to this grade for a comfortable victory at Yarmouth on Sunday. He has a penalty to carry but looks the one to beat. Golden Keeper is on the upgrade and stayed on strongly to land a maiden handicap here earlier this month while Cappoquin looked a likely future winner when runner-up at Carlisle and her subsequent poor runs have been on Polytrack. Bamboo Bay has run two poor races since a surprise victory at Chester while Mr Carpenter needs to rediscover his form though does take a drop in class.
