Verdict

Stepping up in trip suited ROSE AURORA at Bath last month and the Marcus Tregoning-trained filly is a solid option to land Brighton's opening contest; Shianda tops the BHA ratings, so obviously merits respect, while Lady Of Garmoran won over a mile on her penultimate start and has a likeable attitude. As a front-runner, the last named does face a stiff test as she tries 10f for the first time in public, though. Stamina isn't so much of an issue with Shianda, as the daughter of Kyllachy has already been tried over 1m 4f - admittedly without success at this stage. However, she is still relatively unexposed and, assuming she responds kindly to wearing blinkers for the first time, the mount of Jamie Spencer will be a big threat to the selection. However, Rose Aurora seemed ideally suited by a sterner test to her constitution last time out and, given her trainer's eye for an opening, this may be an ideal stage for Tregoning's filly to get off the mark.
