      Verdict

      This looks ultra competitive with course and distance winners Izmail and Alpen Wolf sure to figure, but preference is for Twilight Mistress to gain an overdue success, before she retires to the paddocks. She hasn't been disgraced lately in the face of much stiffer tasks than this, and this extended five-furlongs should prove right up her street. Izmail and Alpen Wolf filled the first two places in a conditions event here last week, and on 7lbs better terms for a length, Alpen Wolf should come out on top this time. A bigger threat may prove to be the speedy Erracht, who does actually have a slight edge over the selection on their running at Bath earlier this month, but whereas Erracht had the run of the race that day, Twilight Mistress missed the break, and could never really get in a blow. With a 2lbs pull that may be enough for Twilight Mistress to gain her revenge.
