Verdict

A modest affair but the long trek from North Yorkshire may prove fruitful for SO MACHO. He has cut little ice this term although he's not really had the run of the race on either start and the best of his three-year-old form reads well in this company. Brambledown has shown enough in a couple of novice auction stakes to be of interest and may well have more to come after only two starts. He should be in the mix while Spirit Of Lucerne is thoroughly exposed but has shown her best form at this trip and her capable pilot's claim sees her receive plenty of weight all round. Penwood would also have a chance if ready to roll after an absence.
