In depth

Verdict

IMPERIAL ACT won one of these low grade classified events by three lengths at Chelmsford last time. He looks the one to beat once again given an apprentice takes 7lb off his back on this occasion. Confrerie has a shout on a recent fourth here and also benefits from an apprentice’s allowance while Kahina posted a much better effort at Yarmouth in first-time headgear on her return to action. Ahfad finished third on the all-weather last month without threatening the winner and looks no nearer opening his account.
