Verdict

On paper this maiden looks a two horse race but with ESSEXBRIDGE already displaying progression in two starts we'll take Richard Hannon's charge over High Importance while Tasheen was promising enough on debut to look the best of the rest. After vastly improving from his first run to second at Lingfield last time, the selection was perhaps a little unlucky to bump into a Godolphin hotpot on that last outing. He still looks open to more improvement and he could go in at the third time of asking. High Importance was less than a length behind the pick in that Lingfield contest so has to be feared. Tasheen holds the usual impressive pedigree we associate with these powerful connections but was far too green on debut to do himself justice and he should be better for the experience.

Essexbridge 4-1 (9-3) Close up on outside, pushed along and unable to quicken over 2f out, kept on inside final furlong to take 2nd near finish, but never any chance with easy winner, 2nd of 12, 3 1/2l behind Sahara Kingdom (9-3) at Lingfield 7f 2yo mdn stks (4) pol.

High Importance (USA) 4-1 (9-3) Held up towards rear, not clearest of runs and switched right over 1f out, pushed along and kept on steadily inside final furlong, better for experience, 4th of 12, 4 1/2l behind Sahara Kingdom (9-3) at Lingfield 7f 2yo mdn stks (4) pol.
