Verdict
Cases can be made for the majority of the field here and it looks to be the most competitive race on the card. However, it may be worth siding with Pierpoint at an each way price to lead them all a merry dance. With the unexposed Etoile Solitare just edging out Concer Eto and Mister Clinton as others to consider. The Milton Bradley-trained eight-year-old still retains plenty of enthusiasm for the game and has a useful turn of foot on his day. He is also extremely well treated on the pick of his form and can bag the far-side rail from a handy position in stall six. The drop to seven furlongs looked to be what was needed when he was run out of things over a mile here last time and another bold show is expected. Etoile Solitare is still only lightly raced and has to be considered as a live danger from a 3lb lower mark than for his maiden victory here last month. But he was floundering over this trip at Lingfield last time; and is likely to do so again if Pierpoint sets his costumery scorching early pace.
