        Verdict

        The 6lb penalty incurred for his narrow defeat of Umverti at Pontefract last month may prevent Tim Walford's Gulf Coast from following up and in a competitive event it may be worth siding with ANNIBALE CARO, who is preferred to Destiny's Dancer. Ben Haslam's filly has been running consistently well this summer but has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper as a result and she may have to settle for minor honours. King's Chorister has disappointed in recent outings over hurdles and may do better back on the flat but needs to and of more interest may be Micky Hammond's San Deng, who did not ran that badly over fences last time and is only 1lb higher than when a close third at Newcastle when last seen in the level in May. Marjorie Fife's They All Laughed has been running really well in recent outings and should be thereabouts again but he is probably better over further and a safer option looks to be Annibale Caro. Jim Goldie's gelding has run well in two recent runs over timber and has been dropped 4lbs since his most recent start on the flat so he looks to be well treated.
