Verdict

TONTO’S SPIRIT is a potentially interesting runner in this. He’s developing into a decent chaser and, though he hasn’t raced on the Flat in almost two years, has trip and ground to suit and is an uncomplicated ride for an amateur. Perla Blanca has won her last two at Ayr and Doncaster so has to go on the short-list. Tapis Libre regularly runs well in races of this type and has won over 2m in the past but Royal Flag was dropped into a seller last month at Beverley and still came up short. Bumper winner Stormin Norman got off the mark on the Flat at Ripon and a return to a longer trip will suit so he makes more appeal than veteran Tawseef.
