Verdict
This doesn't look to be the strongest of maiden hurdles and the market will probably be the best guide. George Swinbank¿s Arctic Playboy caught the eye in December when he finished third in a bumper to Dobbiesgardenworld at Newcastle. If he is able to jump the hurdles, he must go close. Former Irish performer, Tribal County was effective on this surface before joining Ferdy Murphy and today¿s contest does represent a significant drop in class. Jonjo O¿ Neill¿s string are always worth a look in the market and a watching brief is taken about Canal End. Formerly with Christy Roche in Ireland; he showed little on his British debut but the stable are in good order at the moment. We, however, will side with Kivotos. Alastair Whillans' charge was second to the well-regarded Spainkris at Ayr before he was outclassed in a Grade 2 contest at Kelso a couple of weeks ago. There is nothing of that caliber here and today looks an ideal opportunity to get off the mark.
