Verdict
A small but select field contests the closing race on the card.Baron Monty has already posted two successes in heavy ground bumpers and already looks a chasing type. A half brother to Tonoco; he will need a significantly longer trip than today in time. He does carry a double penalty and will need to show further improvement in order to defy it on this occasion. Dobie'sgardenworld was infront of Chris Grant's runner on their last meeting but proved an expensive flop at Ayr next time out. Some commentators suggested that the defeat was as a result of the slow early pace but it looks unlikely that today's race will be run any quicker. Drombeag's action at Exeter suggested that Jonjo O Neill's representative might be a much more realistic option on a sounder surface. Newcomers Brave Lord and Cool Degree look one's to consider if there is any stable support. Our selection in the finale is Next To Nothing. Nicky Richards and Tony Dobbin teamed up to win a bumper at Ayr last week with a similar debutant and this Bob¿s Return gelding should be suited by both the trip and going.
