In depth

Verdict

A weak race where the reluctant vote goes to PEUT ETRE SIVOLA and he is, perhaps, the safest option having scored last time. Winning pointer Waterford makes some appeal as would Blue Rising if the market were to speak positively. The Pipe runner is unpenalised for his win in a conditional jockeys' race at Warwick which immediately advertises his claims. He responded well to the first time visor there but there's always the chance that it may not prove so effective second time around whilst this will be his second demanding race in a week. Waterford failed to show a great deal under Rules for Arthur Moore but has been in winning form between the flags for his new connections. The yard has done well enough with a handful of runners under Rules for him to be worthy of close consideration. Foly Pleasant was a long way behind the selection at Warwick, Count The Cost and Hollows Mist have shown precious little lately whilst Nicozetto and Blue Rising have rarely troubled the judge in a handful of runs over fences. The latter's connections ensure that he's considered but we'll side with the proven claims of Peut Etre Sivola.
