In depth

Verdict

Front Rank is taken to get the better of Richtee and Regency Red in a typically tricky amateur riders' affair. Although Richtee has not shown much form of late, he won on the previous occasion he took part in a similar race with today's pilot on board. This is probably a drop in grade compared to the company he has been keeping so he has to be given every chance here. Regency Red has been the epitome of consistency since scoring twice on the all weather this winter and has been placed with great regularity but you get the feeling he is just lacking a turn of foot. Front Rank ran well on his first Flat outing for over a year to be second at Hamilton last time with today's rider Jill Sayer on board. Staying on at the finish that day, the uphill finish looks set to suit and this son of Sadlers Wells likes the track having won over hurdles here in February and will also enjoy any rain. Front Rank can live up to his name.
