Verdict

Rae Guest's recent Musselburgh winner Pearl Of York has to be respected under his 6lb penalty but preference is for Masafi, with Dance To My Tune rated the best of the remainder. The selection looks a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver and is turned out quickly, under a penalty, after a comfortable four-length victory at Southwell on Monday. He is preferred to Pearl Of York, who won by the same margin at Musselburgh but has less room for improvement than the selection. The remainder seem to face a difficult task with Mick Easterby's Newcastle winner Dance To My Tune having the most solid claims of them. She disappointed back at Gosforth Park last time though and may struggle again. Top weight Magical Mimi showed signs of a return to form at Pontefract last time but faces no easy task giving weight away here, while both Third Empire and Trojan Flight are hard to recommend on recent evidence. The vote then goes to Masafi who has an obvious chance.
