In depth
Verdict
Talama Lady looks the one to be on here, with Lucky Duck and Cardington taken to chase her home. Talama Lady is certain to win a contest such as this based on her latest effort in finishing second to King Solomon at Bangor three weeks ago on what was only her third outing in three years. A dual Bumper winner in 2001, she has been kindly handled by connections who can soon begin to reap dividends. She certainly makes more appeal than most of these, including Lucky Duck who won a moderate affair at Kelso last time. In his favour though is the fact that he can now race clockwise, having continually jumped to the right during his victory two weeks ago. Cardington has run twice here in bumper company and was not disgraced behind Bourbon Manhattan at Aintree. That form is good enough for him to be included in the short-list, but we fancy the chances of Talama Lady that bit more and she gets a narrow vote.
