In depth
Verdict
Black Smoke and Miss Royello should have this between them, with preference for the former based on latest efforts. The rest of the field have been in action between the flags, with How Burn likely to prove the best of them, but form over the bigger obstacles is important in these events and the top two have things in their favour from that point of view. Black Smoke had the third horse well beaten off when chasing home Eastern Point at Leicester, and as long as his jumping improves, Richard Guest's charge can take the beating. Miss Royello is a bit more experienced than her main rival, having contested three hunter chases already, but looks very one-paced, and although there will not be to much in it, preference is for Black Smoke.
