Verdict
In a race which may not take too much winning, it may be worth taking a chance on Tedeska to get off the mark on her handicap debut, with Beauteous the most likely danger. Mark Johnston's filly has shown some promise in her three starts to date, her best effort coming in her second outing, when she finished second to the useful Ripple Effect at this course. A mark of 58 seems far from harsh for her handicap debut, and with the stable having such a fine year we think she could just prove good enough. Beauteous was a course and distance winner last month and has not been disgraced in his two subsequent starts so he is likely to play a part off a nine pounds higher mark. Of the rest, both Smith N Allan Oils and Astrac hinted at a return to form last time and have each way claims, but Tedeska is the one with most scope here and she gets the vote under Joe Fanning.
