In depth
Verdict
Shankly Bond is taken to beat Beauty of Dreams, with Danceinthevalley and Moonfleet others worthy of a mention at least. Shankly Bond caught the eye at Beverley last time when close up behind Wayward Shot, leaving the impression that the slight step back up in trip here will prove beneficial. Bryan Smart's charge was a good second to Killena Boy over 10 furlongs, also at Beverley in April, but the general opinion was that he did not quite last home. Therefore, today's trip should be perfect, and he can open his account. Beauty of Dreams was just touched off over the course and distance last time and a similar effort will see him bang in contention as well. With the Channon team in form, he looks the main danger. Danceinthevalley has finished runner-up on each of his two starts this term, but that latest effort at Southwell leaves him with a bit to find, while Moonfleet takes a significant drop in trip, and is best watched. Shankly Bond has things in his favour here and is the one to beat.
