      Verdict

Neither Pitkin, who was completing a hat-trick over 6f here nine days ago, nor Best Trip are being allowed to rest on the laurels. But the former has it prove over this shorter trip and, like Brian Ellison's in-form five-year-old, carries a penalty today. So does Red Roar, only seventh on soft ground at Haydock on Saturday, but Comptonspirit hinted at a revival at Beverley at the start of the month and a case can also be made for Berberana and old-stager Haajes at the weights. It may be worth giving another chance to JACK LUEY, who has been knocking on the door for a while now and, on his favoured soft ground, can gain a deserved victory in this finale.
