In depth

Verdict

Dee Star gained his sole chasing success at this venue and all his best runs have come here. He was back to form last time with a close second over course and distance and has an obvious claim. He should certainly be in the shake-up on all previous evidence. He finished three places ahead of ABSOLUTELY DYLAN on that latest run but Sue Smith's gelding is better off at the weights now and has since run a good race when second in a decent Hexham handicap in early June. Breaking The Ice put up an improved show when going close last time under his 10lb conditional who retains the ride and Astute Boy is one to note now down a further 3lb in the weights.
