Altruism won here twice over hurdles last summer but didn't get far when out of his depth in a Grade 1 at Aintree when last seen. He'll find this easier but, barring accidents, this could develop into a match between Desoto County and NINE ALTARS. Gordon Elliott's raider has been running well in valuable handicaps over timber in Ireland this year and has already won a point-to-point. But Ann Hamilton's charge has also been in fine form over hurdles and was particularly impressive at Ayr last month so may offer better value. Jethro is one to keep on eye on for future reference.
