In depth

Verdict

Kalahari Queen won at Lingfield recently and is not out of this despite carrying a penalty. But this looks a better opportunity for PAPER ROSES (NAP) as Donald Whillans’ mare went close in a Class 2 handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time and should come out best if running up to a similar level here. She has the beating of Musselburgh runner-up Raised On Grazeon on these terms while Banrion Scairp has been narrowly beaten in a point-to-point and is preferred to Hijran, a modest handicapper on the Flat.
