Midnight Warrior is the only course and distance winner in the line-up though he's run here 14 times for his one victory. Dew Pond has won on the track and also over the trip. He stays much further though isn't particularly well handicapped on the balance of recent form and certainly wouldn't want the ground to dry out any further. ARTIC NEL's (NAP) only victory came over this trip on fast going at Nottingham from a 1lb higher mark. She ran well enough on heavy going back there last time and looks the one to be on. The three-year-old Robeam has mainly been racing on the all-weather but he ran well over this trip on fast going at Redcar so has to be considered. Jan De Heem hasn't won since 2017 but is consistent enough at this level and over the trip so looks one for the shortlist along with Richard Strauss, though the latter could find the ground a bit lively.
