In depth

Verdict

TURNING GOLD finished eight lengths ahead of Hexham scorer Cornerstone Lad on similar terms at Wetherby last month when About Glory was tailed off and Nigel Twiston-Davies’ novice has scope for further improvement. Crushed was only rated 3lb lower than the selection on the Flat and his yard has a terrific strike-rate with the few runners it sends here. Outcrop was third over course and distance last time having run poorly in his first two runs over hurdles but is likely to find a few of these too strong. French import Ecole D'art and Take The High Road, placed twice on the level in Ireland last year, look the pick of the remainder.
