In depth
Verdict
A terrific race for the track where Artie makes plenty of appeal against the likes of Dancing Mystery and Further Outlook, who are consistent performers but may now have their best days behind them. Bond Boy and the lightly weighted Currency are others that have been grand servants to their respective yards over the years and will no doubt do their bit to make sure they all know that they have been in a race, while Awake and Pax are a couple of others that should be able to play leading roles if they are in the mood today. The list could go on with those that are capable of going close on the pick of their form and an each-way move for Malapropism looks virtually assured after a series of solid performances from the Mick Channon-trained gelding. However, Artie has won off this sort of mark in the past and arrives here in cracking form after a near miss at Ripon last month. Tim Easterby's charge will appreciate any ease in the ground and Robert Winston will no doubt be under orders to seek out the soft places in the home straight - a tactic that can only play to Artie's strengths as he bids for win number five of his career so far.
