RISING SHADOW is well enough handicapped to be risked in this contest with Dark Moment and Salerosa providing solid alternatives. Cut in the ground would be desirable for Noel Wilson's runner whilst there are also doubts about the trip as he has yet to win beyond six furlongs but his mark has tumbled since he won a handicap off 93 little more than a year ago. He shaped with much more promise on his latest start when the market also suggested that he'd been showing more at home and he may be able to take advantage of the assessor's leniency. Dark Moment has proved well named as he's had the odd one in his career, refusing to race at this track in July and occasionally starting slowly. However, he's proved most progressive when willing and may be able to put his latest run behind. Salerosa comes into the race on the back of a victory at Southwell for which she's been handed a 5lb rise which leaves her on a career high mark. That seems a little harsh but it would be no surprise to see her improve again now that she's found her form. Misphire is on a winning mark and will relish any rainfall whilst there are a number more that cases can be made for on the pick of their efforts as one would expect in a race of this nature but Rising Shadow is fancied to overshadow his rivals.
