In depth

Verdict

James Given has farmed this race just lately and he can repeat the dose here with Can Can Star, who is taken to be too good for Secret Assassin, Strong Approach and Lucksin. The selection drops back to a more suitalbe 7f after being tried over 9f last time and the booking of Kevin Darley is a big plus. He acts on fast ground and his level of form so far is good enough to give him every chance. Secret Assassin has the best of the draw and is clearly a threat on a course he has run well at before, but is still a maiden after 12 starts and is opposed. Strong Approach still has to truly prove that he gets this far after a few abortive attempts over the trip, while Lucksin has not really lived up to his name after being on the wrong end of a few battles so far, although his consistency should again see him closely involved, but we think Can Can Star can dance off with this as the curtain falls on Catterick's card.
