Verdict

A modest maiden at Catterick in late September wouldn't have been on the wish list when Hamdan Al Maktoum paid 90,000gns for Muzaahim as a yearling and Kevin Morgan went to just 10,000gns for him at the Sales after he'd had one run for Freddie Head in France. He may do better when getting a handicap mark but this is a poor race. Irondale Express has been very disappointing, especially when odds-on here in July, but KISS OF SPRING looks as though she'll be suited by this drop in trip after racing exclusively over a mile and showing good speed. She gets the nod though Mendacious Harpy would win this on his close second to the in-form Gratzie at Bath but ran poorly in a Wolverhampton handicap subsequently.
