In depth

Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer Evander found 2m too short in his first two races over timber before making all over this trip at Sedgefield, for which he's penalised. Judex Lefou wasn't far behind Alpine Cobra at Punchestown for Tom Mullins and the winner finished runner-up in a Grade 3 next time. Kiriglote won a bumper here before well beaten into second at Haydock and makes his hurdling debut, as does O CONNELL STREET. The latter has a superb pedigree for jumping and is taken to make a successful debut though another hurdling debutant, Show Promise, did enough in bumpers to suggest he'll be winning soon.
