Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute has a good record here but Convex looks one of the stable's lesser lights judged on two previous starts and was particularly disappointing in visors last time. Dedham Vale takes a drop in grade but has shown little and is best watched following a two-month absence so Westlander, who should appreciate this quicker surface after toiling in the mud on previous starts, may be the answer to an uninspiring opener.
