Verdict
This is not as competitive as the numbers suggest and it should pay to side with Borders who can regain the winning thread. The six-year-old has disappointed of late but the first-time blinkers should help and he is the class act of the race. He need only reproduce his second behind Kier Park (received 7lb) at Beverley to prevail. The Tatling was not disgraced in a hot handicap last time but is basically on the downgrade and, although he can prove too good for the remainder, should not trouble the selection on these terms.
