A number have been knocking on the door but this could be a tactical dash as the vast majority of the fancied runners are drawn both wide and next to one another so a sharp break looks essential. Lady Raeburn is the exception but she's not easy to assess and is passed over despite a stall three berth. Vieux Carre seems exposed but there's little to choose between Silky Wilkie and Raydoun who have four runner-up efforts and a third between them from five starts. The latter is preferred but the vote goes to MACON BELLE. She's also been second twice, receives the fillies allowance and the promising Pierre-Louis Jamin takes off what could be a decisive further 5lb.
