Verdict

Zoom Star gained reward for consistency when coming good at the tenth time of asking under Graham Lee over this trip at Beverley in late August and is only a couple of pounds higher. The combination should remain competitive and soft ground is no issue. The Gloaming, never in contention on an artificial surface last time, will be much more at home returned to turf, having won over this trip and ground on his penultimate start. Captain Corcoran ran his best race for a while latest but the choice is VAL DE TRAVERS. The Brooke gelding was arguably unlucky not to score last time and is considerably unexposed compared to the opposition he faces here.
