Verdict
Not many of these can be given a realistic chance on official BHB ratings and Tayif is given the vote over stable mate Doctor Spin, Sharp Hat and Legal Set. The key to the outcome of this race may be a similar contest at Doncaster earlier in the month won by John Quinn's Carlton. Tayif finished third that day with all three of his main rivals here behind and, although the David Nicholls-trained gelding is slightly worse in at the weights today, he should again have their measure. A below par effort on a softer surface at Windsor last time is best ignored and, back on a faster surface, Tayif looks the one to be one. Cape Coast, a length behind the selection at Doncaster but now 8lbs worse off, is another worthy of a mention along with course selling winner Zietzig, who faces a stiffer task here.
