In depth

Verdict

A shrewd bit of placement by William Haggas here, and his Able Mind can finally end a frustrating run at the main expense of the equally frustrating Cabenza de Vaca and Cross Ash. The three-year-old has finished in the frame in all six of his previous starts but has not gone down for the want of trying. He has a willing attitude and his connections will raise the roof if today proves to be his day. Cabenza de Vaca has not looked to be the most straightforward of characters and the first -time blinkers failed to work the oracle last time. He is not one to be backing heavily at short odds, even at this level. Cross Ash is capable of running into a place but lacks the scope of the likely market principles.
