      Verdict

      Watersmeet had on off-day in the Cesarewitch last time but can usually be relied on to run his race. He’s only 2lb higher than when winning over 2m here in March while BATTERSEA (NAP) hasn’t had much racing since scoring at Meydan early in the year. But he was runner-up in a competitive conditions race at Salisbury on his latest start and Roger Varian’s charge should prove good enough in this company. Joshua Reynolds has struggled since landing a double during the summer and High Secret looks best of the rest returning from a lay-off on his earlier second over today’s trip at Goodwood.
