      Verdict

      BUCKMAN TAVERN finished well ahead of Mondain when narrowly beaten over today’s trip at Sandown last time. It didn’t help that Luke Morris dropped his whip in the closing stages and Sir Mark Prescott’s charge can go one better with headgear fitted for the first time. Space Walk had finished behind the selection earlier though a battle for the lead on that occasion did him no favours and he remains unexposed. Champagne Marengo and Global Falcon have been mopping up lower grade races and both have a further rise in the weights to contend with while Starczewski’s recent victory at Yarmouth came in a maiden handicap.
