Verdict

Vale Of Kent went close again at York last week, with Firmament behind, and the former also beat Keyser Soze when winning at Newmarket earlier. But Mark Johnston’s charge, Cliffs Of Capri and runner-up Charles Molson were all beaten by CENOTAPH in last year’s renewal. Ryan Moore partnered the latter on that occasion and another bold bid is expected today racing off a similar mark on his debut for Simon Crisford’s in-form yard. Beauty Filly won a Listed race at Chester last month but is now 13lb higher than when landing a handicap at Goodwood earlier and Blue Mist is preferred after placing in a valuable contest at Ascot last time. Habub takes a big step up in class after scoring over track and trip though has plenty of scope for improvement.
