Verdict
Call Me Lord ended a long losing run over this trip at Kempton on his reappearance and has run well in defeat over longer distances since. Red Risk is also in good form, following up a win at Newbury with a close second at Kempton, but Benson is penalised after completing a double in the Morebattle at Kelso 11 days ago. Camprond is 2lb lower than when fourth in this last year and later won a hot handicap at Punchestown. He looks to have been primed for another stab at this big prize and has attracted market interest along with Cesarewitch winner Run For Oscar, who has had a very light campaign but has placed the last twice. GOOD RISK AT ALL was behind the latter over 3m at Haydock in November but pulled much too hard. This is his trip and he is a real mudlark with a high cruising speed. San Salvador and Captain Conby finished 1-2 in a Grade B handicap at Punchestown in December and also go on the shortlist with Navan winner HMS Seahorse looking the pick of a trio of five-year-olds facing the starter. Langer Dan has twice run well at The Festival but needs everything to go his way to get his head in front.
